Frequently Asked Questions

If you are unsure whether your child is meeting their speech and language milestones, contact us for a free 20-minute consultation and we can help determine if support is needed.

Research shows that the earlier a child receives intervention, the better. If you are concerned about your toddler's ability to understand basic concepts or follow verbal directions, use gestures, words, or make sounds, get in touch today to discuss your concerns.

An initial assessment will take place to meet you and your child and determine strengths, interests, and goals. Treatment sessions will then be individualized to meet the specific goals that are set. Sessions are play-based and parent participation is encouraged. A portion of each session will be dedicated to discussing progress, home practice, and suggestions.

The frequency of sessions will vary for each child according to their specific needs. Sessions may take place twice a week, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. The frequency will be determined upon completion of assessment and discussion of goals.

We offer 55 minute or 25 minute sessions depending on the goals and the needs of your child. We can discuss what works best for you and your child.

Most extended health care plans provide coverage for speech-language pathology services just like any other registered healthcare professional (e.g., physiotherapy, chiropractor, massage therapy, etc.). Check with your insurance provider to determine how much coverage you will receive and whether there are opportunities to top-up your plan. We do not direct bill to insurance companies, but will provide you with a receipt that can be submitted for reimbursement.
